I didn't know you did facials here!

Many of you have asked me about my facial treatment through the years, so I thought I'd take an opportunity to describe it for you.

The facial treatment we provide here at Nature's Elements is a truly unique experience. I admit, I did learn some of the pieces from a wonderful massage place in Eureka Springs, AR, where I began my career as a massage therapist. I give Susan Sutherland and the girls at Healing Benefits of Massage (in 2001) credit and my undying gratitude. They were, and continue to be an inspiration to me in providing service using elements of nature.

This experience is a very natural, very soothing facial treatment without extractions or harsh chemicals. If any if you have experienced a facial from an esthetician, you know that sometimes, in order to achieve the desired outcome, your face will be blotchy or irritated temporarily. Not with this treatment. A massage therapist's scope of practice does not include extracting blackheads or doing chemical peels. But, it does include application of products, hydrotherapy (application of steamed towels), and, of course, massage. And so, we do what we do best and what our scope allows.
We begin the session with some relaxing aromatherapy to start the relaxation process. Then, we will gently cleanse your face using one of the Arbonne skincare lines, which you will choose when you speak with the therapist. I chose Arbonne because I wanted as pure of a product as i could get. We remove the cleanser with warm towels, soaked in fresh house-made lavender water made with lavender flowers in a French press. This is also what the steamed towels are soaked in for the facial steam. We will apply cool eye compresses soaked in cool eyebright tea, made in-house. Eyebright herb is known for its healing properties for the eye area. It is very soothing. We also make our clay mask customized for you with lavender water and essential oils for your needs. Chamomile is a popular choice. The rest of the facial is done using Arbonne skincare. Nearly seamlessly interwoven through the steps of the facial, is relaxing, therapeutic massage...and lots of it! (it IS what we do, after all). In the 60 minute facial, you will receive massage to the arms and hands, feet, neck, shoulders, and, of course, head and face. Massage style and pressure is always tailored to your specific needs and desires. In the longer 90 and 120 minute sessions, you will receive a full body massage. We will also incorporate aromatherapy based on your needs.

There you have it! The Nature's Elements Facial. You'll be so relaxed and renewed, you may need to hang around a while and bask in the feeling. And we invite you to do just that, if you are inclined.

The facial can be added to any service, and the massage can be upgraded to a Healing Stone massage, if that is what you would like.

I hope this will give you a good picture of what our facial treatment is all about...give it a try on your next appointment. :)
