"What kind of massage is this?"

Many clients throughout my years of practice have asked me "What kind of massage is this?" My best answer is "MIne." I don't really know how to classify my "technique". I use several different modalities, from basic Swedish (the "classic" massage you think of, with the gliding strokes and smooth transitions), to deep tissue. I throw in a little reflexology, maybe a dash of CranioSacral, sprinkle a few trigger point releases in there...kind of like if my take on a recipe. But first and foremost, I make it about YOU- the client. I try to get a feel for your needs before I ever touch you. On any given day, you may have a different need. Some days, deep tissue is the way to go. You really want to work some muscle tension out, and are ready to be present with me during the massage. Some days, you just need to "check out" of your body for an hour or so. This is where relaxing Swedish comes in.

So, when you schedule a massage with me, I will always keep your interests in mind. I will always try to answer any questions you may have about any technique and we will decide together the best plan of action. Everyone's needs are different and needs change, sometimes even during the massage. I try to be flexible and present with you in order to take the best care of you I possibly can. I will always strive to give you my best massage.

In some future posts, I will try to give an overview of some of the different modalities I use most often. Please feel free to comment and post questions. I will do my best to answer them.

Have a great day and week! Hope to see you soon!
